Ten Tips from The Simple Dollar

While reading through headlines in google reader today I found an article from The Simple Dollar that turned out to be really good. It was titled, Ten Clever Money Savers You Might Want To Try This Weekend. Two tips I really liked were the cheapest fruits and vegetables by month and using vinegar for fabric softener. I recommend you check it out.

The vinegar tip reminds me of a list of uses for vinegar I found a while back. Vinegar is quite versatile and can be a really frugal alternative for a lot of things. Hopefully I can do a post on it one of these days.

i loved this article. i have actually tried a few of these things in the past so i kind of chuckled when i read them. like the one about buying your thanksgiving turkey early. that is a tradition that my family has done for so many years. i hadn't heard the one about vinegar as laundry softner but i do plan to do that on my next load of clothes. thanks for the tips.

Thanks, these are some wonderful tips! I never would of thought to save a turkey in June for Thanksgiving but thats an excellent idea. Around Thanksgiving time the turkeys are slim pickins and right now there are plenty out. I may even buy a ham and save it for Christmas in October. Another good idea was to give homemade gifts for xmas and that would save me a lot of money also, I may end up making fudge for everyone! I never knew you could use vinegar for so many things also. Thanks again for sharing the article, I will definitely be using some of these tips!

Dr. Oz also writes that you should eat nuts 30 minutes before a meal to curb hunger enough so you do not overeat.
